Biology, Evolution, Transposable Elements, and Genomics at Texas Tech University
The Ray laboratory in the Department of Biological Sciences at Texas Tech University focuses on the study of genomes and genome evolution with an emphasis on transposable elements. Our model organisms include bats and other mammals, crocodilians and several insects.
The Ray Laboratory has received support from the National Science Foundation (DEB-1355176, DEB-1838283, MCB-0841821, MCB-1052500, DEB-1020865, and DEB-1838283), the US Department of Agriculture, the Texas Tech University College of Arts and Sciences, the Institute for Genomics Biocomputing and Biotechnology at Mississippi State University, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, the Texas Tepartment of Wildlife and Fisheries, and the State of Texas.
